Default Putting in new brake pads

Quick Question

I took out the old brake pads. When I put the new ones in, do I just slide them in along the two "rails" or should they snap in somehow? I just slid them in and then put the caliper back on but it seems like they wouldn't be able to release. I don't understand brakes too well though.

yes but make sure you put some lube like anti seize (not sure on spelling) on the 2 ends of the pad that slid in the rails. also if you have something to lube the caliper slides that would be good to. the caliper slides are the 2 pins the caliper bolts too. those slide out and you put lube on them

Ok, I had to kind of force (not really hard but it didn't slide right in) one of the back pads. Does that really matter?
