Default Intermediate Shaft question

I have an SH block in a 4th gen and I need to replace the intermediate shaft. From what year car should I buy the shaft for?

The one thats on there, the bracket was welded but the weld broke. A shop said they couldn't fix it because of the type of metal it was. What other ways of making a bracket are there?

yeah either the metal is too thick, cuz it should be and he had a regular muffer shop welder, or it was alluminum, i believe 96 and newer were aluminum and older were steel, probably want steel or find someone to weld alluminum.

Yeah welding cast iron can be tricky from what I hear.

I've made a few ATTS adapter plates to use the standard intermediate shaft with SH blocks. No welding required and have been proven to be pretty stout.

PM me if you're interested.

Our fabricator made custom halfshaft bracket for our customer with SH block.
No adapter plate is needed. I'll get some pictures and prices.

I've thought about that too but it takes a lot of material and if you make it out of steel it's heavy and takes forever to machine. If you make it out of aluminum it cuts fast and can be done in 3 operations. But a piece of aluminum that large add a bunch of extra money into the equation so I chose to make a simple and effective steel adapter plate.

If you charge $250 for a simple bracket no one will ever buy it.

I think the best would be stick with h22A intermediate shaft so you can use stock axle. We just did this mix up with different parts as that was all we could find laying around at the shop. We will have this SH block for like one more week. If there would be some interest I would give our fabricator mine h22 halfshaft to make one or more units for SH with non ATTS tranny like M2a4.
