bad rust is it worth fixing or should i scrap it
ok i have an 89 crx hf the is a large rust hole under the car just behind the door. the rust so bad that the medal lip were you raise the car has about 7 inches missing from it. i don't know much about body work but i think that lip is the connection of the frame and body. is there any way to fix it and how. or should scrap the car and start fresh.
REST OF THE CAR IS FINE NO RUST ANY WERE BUT THERE BUT HOW WOULD I FIX IT. I'M GUESSING A NEW PANAL WITH OUT ALL THAT RUST BUT IS THAT ALL
I would say to really get under the car and check things our really good.
Chances are that if it is rusted like that then it is in other places too.
I would take the spare tire cover out of the car and have a look in that area all around. I would also take out the rear speakers so that you can look through and see the interior side of the rear wheel arches.
I was putting in some rear speakers in my '88 Rex and When I took the old speakers out I was surprised to see how bad it looked on my arches as compared to how nice it looked from the outside.
Pictures would help too.

THE CAR IS DOWN TO A SHELL. NO CARPET OR PLASTICS EVERY THING LOOK GOOD ON THE IN SIDE JUST THAT SPOT ON THE OUT SIDE UNDER CAR BEHIND THE DOOR. THANKS FOR THE TIP THOUG. SO CAN I FIX IT OR NOT
Just about anything can be fixed unless it's seen damage from a nuclear bomb or something of that sort. Like others have said though it's a matter of patience and how much money you're willing to spend.

YOU CAN ACTUALLY ORDER A WHOLE 90-91 FENDER, COMPLETE FROM HALFWAY UP THE ROCKER PANEL UNDER THE DOOR TO WHERE THE BUMPER MOUNTS FOR FAIRLY CHEAP, STRAIGHT FROM HONDA, PRIMERED AND READY TO PAINT. AROUND 600 BUCKS A SIDE HERE IN CANADA.
Might want to look into that. That's pretty much the best way to beat rust. If you patch in metal it will eventually start to rust at the seams.
Good luck
