Default Vtec question

91 crx w/b16a2,vtec engaugement 5400 w/p72 ecu obd1.when i had obd0 the vtec cracked hard and ripped fats now that i have switched to obd1,Vtec feels weaker and doesnt pull as hard.when it was obd0 i had a chip set for Vtec to engauge at 4400,it was good.so now its not the same so i bought a chip for 4400 Vtec enguagement for my obd1 set up and it made a little bit better results.i checked wiring and thats all good,i checked timing, ingition timing, and oil lvls.the only thing i havent done is check the Vtec oil screen, ecu(i don't know how to check to see if its bad),and oil pressure.the oil pan is also dented a little too.anyone who could help that would be great.ALSO I HAVE SCANED THREW 300+ VTEC POSTS AND HAVENT FOUND WHAT IM LOOKING FOR.Thanks for any info

You can't just put in some random ebay or DIY chip with a different VTEC crossover and expect the car to run any better without tuning it

Either get a stock P30 or put a stock P30 bin on your chip.

why a p30? just cause its a virgin or becuase its a b16 computer? if cause its a b16 ecu i thought it doesnt matter if its p72 or p30,the piggyback harness i bought said to use a p72 it didnt specify why but the harness is for both b16 and b18 either one.

Obviously because it's a B16 computer, with B16 fuel and ign. maps. Is there a horsepower and torque difference between the B16 and B18c? Yes, so why would the maps be the same?

If you want your B16 to run right, don't try and run it on fuel and ignition maps from a bigger engine
