vtec not workin

Default vtec not workin

i have a 92 vx hatch with the d16z6 and p28 ecu it is a swap but vtec is not workin and hav no ida what it could be

There are a few things that can cause this. If the VSS (vehicle speed sensor) on the transmission is not working you will not be able to use VTEC - you should also get a CEL for that. If the engine temp probe fails you will also not get VTEC as it requires 155 degrees to allow it to operate.

Could be speedo, could be your coolant temp sensor isnt reaching operating temp, and also try cleaning your vtec solenoid... I've had an issue as simple as that, and cleaning it out fixed the issue!

? VTEC solenoid? Thats it... Its a solenoid and it controls when it allows oil pressure to engage vtec.... ?

It's called the "Spool Valve" on Majestic Honda. Most people just call it the "VTEC solenoid".

Check your oil level, oil pressure. Low or no oil means no VTEC.
