vtec bugged out speedo.
i have a eg hatch, with a b16.. running on a p30 automatic del sol computer... i hooked up the vtec.. it worked fine then the speedometer start buggin out and stopped working along with the vtec.. then i read that you have to take the ground from the solenoid and tie it into the black ground on the vehicle speed sensor.. if anyone knows whats going on tell me. thanks.

what the hell? speedo has nothing to do with VTEC.. VTEC has nothing to do with SPEED.. It has to do with RPMS..

Re: vtec bugged out speedo. (Hatchy-Ownzjo0)
actually if you yor speedo stops workign because the VSS sensor goes bad and you through a VSS code then your vtec will not engage. and its not because the ecu is in limp mode because i have thrown o2 sensor codes and knock sensor codes and still had vtec engage so yes if your speedo does stop working becauase of a bad VSS sensor then vtec wont work but if your speedo stops working because the gauge itself is bad then vtec will still work

Wrong.
your spedo must be working for vtec to work.

You sure.. I'm pretty sure if your spedo doesnt work but your VSS is working properly that Vtec will engage no problem... I was talking about the actualy guage itself.. My spedo does not work and i need a new VSS and my Vtec still works.
My speedo is usually at 0.. Although about 45% of the time it DOES work.. So I don't know if i actually need a new VSS or not, but I do know for a fact that Vtec IS engaging properly.

whiggit
saying the spedo is an easy way of saying the VSS
YES it will work as long as the VSS is working. but 99% of the time if your spedo dosent work your VSS isnt working.
