Default OMG plz help me with this.!!!

I need to know how to take the rev limiter out of my 1990 CRX. Plz someone help me. I cant figure it out, this is

You cant "take" it out.
You need to chip your ecu buddy.
Why would you need to take it off?
UR car is set at that so it doesent blow the engine, why go higher??
YOu dont make power past ur rpm redline.

Yeah. But my engine has a cold air intake and alot of other things that help performance. But im not getting what i need out of it because of the rev limiter. It wont even let me double clutch right because of it. Can you help?

OMFG are u kiddin me Bro. please do us all a favior and break those Slow & the Qurious Movies u apperantly keep watchin. Then after you do that do ur self a favior and goto like barns and noble and buy some books on tunin and performance there are alot of them in the automotive area or start searchin on here or google somethin and actually learn how to make your car faster and reliable. Just my 2 cents

For one i bet you still have the d15 which is a POS, only good for mpg.
Also ur cold air intake and exhaust, adds about what..1-2hp MAYBE.
Your rev limiter is not stopping performance, thats a safety feature so you dont blow ur engine.
Also If you chipped ur ecu and got to go past the limiter, you would be slower, because you dont make power after the limiter unless you have REAL mods.
I:E cams, cam gears, head work ect..

Stop trying to be a ricer, i can imagine your car now all ricered out.
Your exhaust is so loud its stupid. Your not going to beat anyone, or be cool around your friends by taking the limiter off.

Your just ganna end up looking retarded and with a blown engine.

If you want somthing better, convert over to mpfi.

Then if you want more get an engine swap.
Get a b16 and your limiter will be at 8,000 and fuel cut off at 8,200 WOW!

I can tell all the above by ur "i cant double clutch".

1. Don't take off the rev limiter.
2. Intake and Exhaust add more then 2 horsepower.
3. A D15 is not a "piece of ****"

"Know you gears, Its where you shift to Neutral, rev to your highest rpm of what ever gear your going into, then quickly shift into that gear. For me its 3rd. So then you dont have to wait for your rpms to jump up so slowly. they are already there. Best for racing." So dont make yourself look like a noob by saying. "theres no such thing as double clutching"

you should just add NOS. but be sure to double weld in your floor pan or it might fall out when the manifold pressure gets too high. and no one wants a hole in their floor when they're reving to 11ty million rpmz yo!

seriously, don't mess with your rev limiter. it's there to protect your engine. unless your bearings and valve train are fresh and designed to handle higher rpm, your just asking for trouble. if you just want an excuse to do an engine swap, i'd suggest saving yourself some money and just sell the engine you've currently got rather than blowing it.

I started here in 0 something?? anyway before I posted one time, I read for about three months straight on engine building, tuning, and transmission tech on here and here alone and I feel I have enough info to build my first racecar. Again I would take the advice of the second or third guy! READ YOUR **** OFF!

It's not that the D15 is a p.o.s. but it's not worth doing anything to money wise unless your going to go all out, if thats the engine you have.

If your looking for some speed there's alot you can do to it like cams, headporting, forged internals, turbo but simply getting a chipped ecu or chipping your own wont do anything in fact your car probably will not even run after that. Stock internals head or motor are not designed for 9k revving! my two cents
