Default question about plastigaging the rod bearings.. Please look

I am about to go assemble my ls/vtec, well the block to start with. I have to plastigage the rod bearings and was wondering, when I put the rods in to plastigage each rod, do I need to have the rings on the pistons as well or can i just plastigage first?

You can plastigage the rod bearings with the crank off the block if you wanted to. That way less chance of scaring the block walls.
