what are you running? i had straight piping 2 1/4" from the header back and when it started breaking in my new muffler, it got so ridiculously loud i had to put a resonator on it. for daily driving, it wasn't worth it to take the cat off. and to be honest, never once was i ever checked for driving without a cat. but as far as florida goes, my sister got written up for no cats and all she did was pay a shop off to say she had them put on.... in and out of the courthouse for about 15 bucks.
