well got abit of a problem at minute -

ive had a slight miss fire for awhile but this is because i havnt got my ignition timing spot on -

the real problem ive got now is when i hit vtec my car splutters and back fires badly! its really bad - what could this be?

ive cleaned my spark plugs, will be getting new ignition leads at the weekend -

i thought this might be something to do with the vtec solenoid??

any suggestions?

 

the vtec solenoid has nothing to do with that. sounds more of a spark/fuel issue. what ecu are you using? any check engine lights?

 

right ok-

im running standard ecu which has been mapped on crome by a friend - was done about 15 months ago and has been fine!

no check lights at all - think ill replace the plugs and leads at weekend.

if its not a forced induction setup then u could try going to a stock BIn see how it runs.

 

So what changes to the car have you made recently before this had started?

 

no changes - thats whyi cant work it out.

i was racing it down the 1/4 mile the day before it started an it was fine then

it just started up randomly...
