Default Water temp not Heating up fast.

Problem, Car takes long to heat up, when driving the temp goes cold. Check engine comes on after a couple of mins warming up. But it doesn't throw a code?????

I think it's the thermostat. But I try using a different thermo, but used thermostat. After changing the thermostat, it doesn't drop down as far or as fast. But still take a long *** time to heat up. I guess I'll just go get a new one from honda.

Can anyone help shine in on this.

Hahahaha.. better stick with the regular radiator hose... And just replace the thermostat with a new one.. Will probably fix your whole problem.

replace the thermostat and the fix the problem. Funny thing now is that When I had low coolant vtec worked. But I refilled the coolant and after 20 mins driving vtec wont kick.

Also CEL takes about 10 mins to come on???? But wont throw a code.

Check the oil level and it's fine.

the coolant level doesn't affect vtec in any way. what's the cel code? there has to be one, you're not checking for it correctly if you're saying it's not giving you the code.

I reset the ecu so many times. still wont go away.

It wont throw a code. I mean the CEL doesn't even come on till 10 to 20 mins of driving?

Thanks for all the help. Keep it coming. I won't rule anything out till that CEL is gone.

Okay, youre problem is your thermostat, it is getting stuck open, replace it and youll be fine.

and Type R radiators are NOT different than any other 94-01 manual integra radiator.

you should be able to check the code with the car running.

already got the thermostat fixed. I think it might be the hondata throwing CEL because of something is wrong. But who knows.

It takes about 10 to 20 mins for CEL to come on.

You tried the paper clip method from the FAQ to pull the stored CEL code?
