Default Troubleshooting A/C Compressor?

So i replaced hose number #3(discharge hose) that goes from the a/c compressor to the condenser...vacuumed the system for 1 hour with my mechanic and then we charged it up with 24 oz of 134a...
a/c compresser not turning on, condenser fan is, but the other is not...
switch on the inside of the car turns green when pushed and blower motor works...

what should i do to see if it's the compresser or anything else? and in what order?

How did you charge the system w/ freon if the a/c compressor doesn't turn on?

charged it up with the car off and it took it...evaped it i believe...then it had 70 psi pressure and started the car...a\c compresser didn't turn on(or when the system is lower psi)
my mechanic said that's normal until it fluctuates through the system, where it drops to 30-40 psi

run power straight to the compressor from the baterry and see if the compressors clutch engages.....if it does check your A/C fuse if not its time for a new compresor....if you keep blowing your a/c fuse there might be a wire grounding somewhere in the system...

You can't charge the a/c system with the a/c compressor off. It won't take the freon into the system. But like other post, jump the a/c clutch directly to the battery to see if the a/c clutch engages (while the car is on and you have the a/c switch and blower on) If it turns on directly but not when you just turn on the switch inside the car, then try jumping the low pressure switch to see if that is faulty.

I suggest you get yourself a 20 Helmes Manual from Autozone, it is good for trouble shooting problems like this
