Teg wont stay idling from high RPM....need some advice
I have a freshly rebuilt 98 LS that will idle good at about 650RPM which is a little low, but runs great. However, when I am driving and come down from 3K or so the engine cannot recover and stalls out. Could it be my TPS,(throttle positioning sensor)? I took it of and checked resistance(or voltage, I forget the precedure) and it was within spec. Also, I cannot up my idle because that damn idle screw is stripped(I swear the screw must have been loc-tited in there!) How can I fix this, remove the TB and get it drilled/re tapped out or something?
Thx

Also check and make sure you have no air in your cooling system. It will make for eractic idle as well.
I would check for air in the cooling system first.

I dont know about Hondaretti, but for my case, my car runs perfect upon initial start(cause the idle is higher at cold temps) but when it heats up the idle is too low(still runs but too low). I honestly feel i just need to bump up the idle and I would be good because it runs great if I apply a slight amount of pressre to the gas pedal. How about this: can I just put a 1/2 turn tension on my throttle cable to keep he running at 750 RPM? I only ask about this cause my idle screw is stripped out.
