Default rpm matching while shifting/driving

since i have a lighten flywheel and i don't shift like i'm racing everyday. I was just wondering if anyone else matches rpms before shifting into the next gear. my lighten fly drops the rpms pretty quick while driving so i made it a habit of matching my rpms before in throw it to the next gear. is there a need to do so anyways.

for example i usaully shift around 2.5-3K rpm but when i change gears it drops to like 1-1.5K so the rpm has to jump up around 500-1krpm's or so to get back to speed. i usually tap the gas (barely) in between shifts to keep the rpms in the right revs before i release the clutch.

i think this will save my trans and my motor life. what do you guys think...

i rev match my downshifts during normal everyday driving. keeps me in practice. I've got a stock flywheel on everything at the moment, so I don't have to do it on upshifts.
IMO, it helps the synchro life if you rev match and double clutch anyway, so why not?

I tend to match as well... just getting into the habit before the other motor goes in. Day to day driving I try and be nice to my tranny

lightweight flywheels arent exactly for everyday driving

but yes revmatching all the time saves ur clutch!

I'd say just shift a little faster there buddy! I have a 7lb flywheel and I don't have to blip the throttle on upshifts; only downshifts, obviously.

You do know that it takes as much, if not more fuel to get the car up to speed shifting that low than it would if you shifted a little higher in the powerband, right? Fuel consumption is more dependent on throttle position than it is revs. Try shifting a little higher to keep it from bogging.

I've never had any drivability issues with my 9lb flywheel and I never blip the throttle on an upshift.
