Hey guys (and gals), quick question...

I'm supposed to maybe meet some1 this wknd for some del sol seats cuz hes parting out his car, and I was wonder what other parts (if any) from the del sol would be better than civic ones. In other words, which parts I should look for that would be better than stock civic stuff (ie, brakes, shocks, wtv) I don't know the del sol too much but I can get some really good deals so I wanna know what to look out for. Obviously theres the motor... but I wanna know what else is civic compatible.

are the rear brakes on a sol disks?

 

I have a del sol and I know people are always saying how I am lucky because I have the good lower control arms on my car. Intake manifold too. Tho I cant really say.

Yeah, the rears on my sol are disks, dont know if they all were.

 

Depends on which Del Sol he has. Is it the one with the B16a?

 

96-97 have rear disks and depending on whether your ZC is VTEC or not will also depend on what parts you get. All suspension is the same from any EG chassis, except for the VTEC models rear sway bar.

 

i'm not sure, cuz i dont know the year, it just said that it was a Del Sol Si. I'm gonna be calling the guy later, do you know which parts I need for a rear disc coversion?

 

Own both a del sol and an ek civic, If its an Si del sol pick up the rear brake setup because it can be used as a disk brake conversion. Good luck

 

which pieces do i need exactly? trailing arms, prop valve... are the lines the same?

ZC = DOHC non-vtec

del sol's came with one of three motors
s models came with a d15 SOHC non-VTEC
si models came with d16z6 SOHC VTEC
VTEC models came with a b16a3 motor DOHC VTEC (all of these are USDM of course)

other than that all of that info is correct
s models no front/rear sway
si models 21mm front sway
vtec came with front/rear sway bars

other than that i don't believe anything else is different, suspension is based on the eg chassis style, so everything should be able to convert over to your hatch.

DOHC non-vtec
SOHC non-vtec (mine.)
SOHC vtec

i stand corrected, thank you. it sounds like a rare motor.

 

my 97 VTEC Sol was a stock b16a2, it ofcourse had disk brakes in the rear, should bolt up to a eg but don't quote me on that.
