Default MINI ME ( i searched )

i looked and it didnt find any thing i want to do the mini me swap and use the d16y8 head can i put the head on and drive without wireing the vtec cause i have the head and the fuel pressure reg. but i want to save up a little more so i can do a obo 0 to obo1 conversion ?

You can ghetto rig it so YOU engage it, best not to use it under like 4.3-5k rpm.

so you can use a rpm switch but its not ok to run it with out the vtec hooked up?

Wait until you get the right ECU. If you're light on the throttle, you should be fine for a little while.

Powering the solenoid remotely is not a good method because there is nothing to change the fuel/timing maps.

ok then wat else do i need i have the head and the y8 gasket also get ing the y8 timeing belt wat ecu do i need, do i need a vtec controller obo1 conversion?


also im puting it on a d15b1

you have some options when it comes to making vtec work....
you can do it the right way by converting to obd1 and running a p28
or you canuse an rpm switch.
since you have a D15B1 im assuming you're car is DPFI?

If you want to do an obd1 conversion, get a p06 or p28 ECU and chip it with an EPROM that has p2p fuel/timing maps.

You do not need a VTEC controller.

i have a d15b1 dx/std motor with a si tranny and dpfi to mpfi swap and bout to put on a d16y8 head i want to get the vtec rpm switch for now where can i find a rpm switch and will i need a relay for it to? also will i have to get a adjustable cam gear???
