1995 Civic EX parts on a 1991 CRX DX
What will (drop-in) swap from this car only as far as mechanics,
I am not wanting to make a Frankenstein body/interior creature.
Things I want to know:
Rear brakes?
mc/booster?
tranny?
engine? (I know 2000+ ex have a d17 which, of course, is not drop-in, but I dont know of older ones)
and about the tranny, will the gearing in it be unfriendly to the power curve of my d15b dpfi?
This car has 160k on it and has been bashed on all 4 sides due to a drunk crashing into it (while it was parked in the yard) and spinning it into trees and other parked cars. So the body would not be usable even if I wanted it.
also what would the parts that would swap be worth? I am gonna try to get all that is worth getting.

the front spindles(brake, calaper, roater,) will fit, all of the struts both front and rear sets,
the rear brakes won't, none of the interior, the speakers will.
the tranny wont work, its Hydo, you need a Cable, and Also the motor won't work
you have a DPFI you need a MPFI and a ECU jumper.
and no you would need some custom work for the Brake and Clutch boosters to fit

ok thanks
so I guess the mc would not mate to my booster either?
What is the reason to swap the front spindles?
What are they worth?
Thanks alot for clearing up the tranny option. I really appreciate that. I dont want to do a hydro conv.
But a mpfi conv is another thing.
I would get the ecu and harness out of the same car if I got the engine.
and I would get the entire engine(long block) that is , if it was the d16 that he thinks it is.
But even if that made the engine compatible I probably wont get it. he has a sukka offering $700 for just the engine. He needs to take that money before the guy comes to his senses.

well TRUST ME
converting a OBD0 car to OBD1 is hardwork and only for those who knowing wiring.
to get that motor working without a harness swap, you would need a DPFI to MPFI harness for the DX/STD model, and you would also need the ecu jumper to use the OBD1 ecu and you would need a cable tranny for a D-series motor.
and you need those spindels if you plan to use that motor, the ones on the car won't fit with
the motors CV-Axels, and plus it has bigger brakes.
and as for the booster, the one on the car is fine enough.

ok so I cant use anything from that car.
It sounds like you were saying that the engine swap is involved, not impossible.
Being a d16 is would fit on the same mounts. I have a cable tranny for a dblock (I am driving it now)
I have no issue with pulling the harness. and understanding wiring is fine. I have been an electronics proffessional since the 70's. I have also designed and built upgrade cards for computers so the ecu logic is not a problem.
And my header is ready for the 2nd O2
IF that is the case , what price for the ecu, harness,&engine would be low enough to make it worth the trouble?
