which factory intake for my swap?
Because most CAI's or SRI's look like trash? Some people like the simplicity of a stock airbox with a K&N filter or the like. Both types of intakes (aftermarket & OEM) pretty much yield the same results, anyway.
I disagree completely. Stock intake piping is not only restrictive, it's not conducive to flow due to it's cheap, poor construction.
Further, why is it common to dyno upwards of 8whp when removing a stock intake and going to a CAI?
saying they're the same is asinine. If you want a stock look, powercoat/paint the cai a flat or dull gloss black. Simple, clean, and better than the crap stock.

i`ve always liked a clean stock look and the last setup i had in my ef with this same motor yielded 182-135 at the wheels. i was very impressed and there wasn`t but a few all moto cars round here who could touch me. not braggin just content. does anybody know which arm will reach my airbox? i tried a few ls arms and they r about an inch too short.
uh bump. i know theres someone with a stock lookin setup that knows. do i have to source a jdm setup or is there a usdm equivelant?

Agreed, I personally don't care to eek out every single HP possible - near redline at that. Even a little less at low to mid RPM doesn't bother me. Also stock filters are cheaper and easier to change on a stock breather setup.
But if my motor was built NA I would stick with a CAI.

use a stock 95 civic ex or si one. It will fit fine. And there's nothing wrong with having the stock one in there, every once in a while i'll put my stock intake back in, usually in the winter though cuz it rains a lot here. You'll have to make it fit because the bore on the throttle body is smaller on the d series motor.
