So i was driving on the fwy and car shuts off ! HELP !
i was on the fwy driving my stock 90 dx going about 70 mph and my car just shuts off , i heard no noise , no smoke no visual signs at all it just wouldnt turn over , so i popped the valve cover and noticed the timing belt was loose , not shure if it completely snapped or came loose or what , does anyone know if its hard to change a timing belt , can there be any possible engine damage ?keep in mind that this is a stock sohc d15b. any info would be appreciated thanks in advance
you deff want to check out ur loose timing belt, but pull your distributor cap off and see if your rotor fell off. Be careful as you pull it off because the screw may be floating around inside. put some blue loc-tite on and be on your way if that is all it is. Then get home and do a timing belt change. not hard at all if you get ur crank bolt loose. Use a big impact
I had this happen to my 1989 dx crx, looked around everywhere. Turned out it was the celenoid in the starter. The retard that owned it before me had a 1992 accord one in there or something.
thanks for all the replies guys , so i took the tb cover off and yup the timing belt was in pieces , , all i need is to take the crank pulley off and i'll start putting on the new tb
