3point harness mounting, autox application
i recently aquired a RCI "v-style" 3 point harness with the optional anti sub belt.
as the sholder straps merge into one monting strap is it safe to mount it to the rear bumber support bolt in the trunk. with the rear seats folded down.
as this mounts so far back it gives the strap a better angle as opposed to mounting it to the rear seat belt.
i also tried mounting it to the c pillar as some manufactures suggest but this makes my right sholder tight and leaves my left looser.
RCI didnt provide much of an installation guide. i am looking at a roll bar or at least a harness bar in the near future but this is just for the time being...
thanks

Why would you have to remove speakers? Back when I had my 98 Teg I put an autopower roll bar in and I kept the rear speakers. It was a very tight squeeze if I remember.
I'll see if I can dig up photos.

I have a v style impact racing harness.
I mounted it to the rear upper seat belt mount.
The angle that the shoulder belts should make are between down 5 degrees and up 30 and it easily falls in this range.
You can notice it a little being off to one side but its really not bad.
I only use it for autocross so please dont start the whole harness cage debate thing.

And yea, having it mounted to the C pillar looks unusual but it seemed to work fine for autocross, and its the way Schroth recommends the 3 point be installed.

There is no sub-belt for a Rallye 3. It has Schroth ASM (anti submarining mechanism) so you don't need a sub-belt. Using a sub-belt with stock seats is generally a no-no anyways because you have to run the sub strap over the front of the seat cushion, which is not the right way to do it and it really compromises the effectiveness of the sub-belt. More info on that here... http://www.soloracer.com/harnessslot.html
