Default CTR intake cam install, ignition timing on b18c1 before tune?

hey guys, like the title states i will be installing a ctr intake cam in my gsr soon and would like to know what should i set my ignition timing at before i get it tuned? its my dd and will probably have to drive it a couple weeks before i get a chance to tune it. other breathing mods are a blox v-stack and filter, skunk2 pro series intake manifold, hytech replica header, and 2.5" skunk2 exhaust and test pipe.
so should the timing be fine at 16* or should i retard it a couple degrees to be safe. TIA

Shouldn't be fooling with your dizzy unless your setting it back to stock specs..

16~18* should be fine advance it alittle if you'd like or keep it at 16, make sure your jumping the ecu while your doing..

Not a problem.. Trust me... 16 is fine.. you can never go wrong with stock.

i forgot to mention im running on a virgin p30 ecu at the moment also. will that effect anything? i believe the fuel maps are different and maybe a little more lean which is another reason i am wondering about the timing.

p30 ecu is made for a single stage manifold, which i'm hoping you swapped over to from the original GSR manifold.. other then that, you might run a tad bit leaner considering the p30 is made a for a 1.6 liter and not a 1.8 liter.. but it shouldn't be that much.. Invest in a tuneable ecu setup you'll gain alot more then you would just throwing parts into the mix.

i cant afford $1000 for a dyno tune right now so i was going to have my tuner run a type r base map and street tune it from there to get me by.
what about a vafc?

$1000 dollars??? for a tune?? on your current setup???? man, shop around that's way more than it should be. Go with stock tuning until you get it tuned, then see what the motor likes.
