1994 acura Integra, my reverse kicks out when I fully take my foot off the clutch. The transmission is full of oil. I am woundering if there is an adustment and where is it(if there is one) what can I do?

 

im assuming this is a 5 speed? make sure the linkage isnt bent, other than that it can only be inside the transmission.

 

Ya it's a five speed, but i have been told that there is a way to adjust the reverse from the outside... It;s almost like it doesent want to go all the way in like it use to.

The reverse actuation mechanism is integrated into the forward gears shifting mechansim. You can't tweak it independently.

My guess is that the synchro sleeve and synchro spring are damaged and reverse isn't engaging all the way.

 

That sound like the probleme, the gear wont go as far as it used to. any suggestion on fixing it? thanks

 

Replace the 5th-reverse synchro set.

 

Hmm! So i have to take out the transmission.. Now thats problomatic.
