2000 Vortec SI makes no boost.
Hey guys we just picked up a 2000 civic si with a vortec V-5 non intercooled kit on it. When we purchased the car it had no belt on the unit at all, and now that its running makes no boost. The car has stock injectors from what i can see, and once it hits 6000 rpms it just bogs like its hitting a fuel cut. Why wouldnt this unit be making any boost? I cant find any boost/vac leaks what so ever! Any idea guys?
belt slippage most likely. I would check the compression of the motor tho, and check the spark plugs and plug gap. If they're gapped too wide, it could be blowing out the spark.
You're in port charlotte? I'm in Manatee county a lil bit north of you.

Why is there stock injectors on a SC Si? Definitely check the compression and perform a leak-down test. What kind of engine management are you using and what psi pulley is installed?
honestly the car was traded in at charlotte honda in port charlotte, they have no information on the supercharger or history. How can I tell if the belts are slipping? It doesn't appear to be... I dont understand how this thing is not making any boost?
Boost leak?
I'm not too familiar with vortec sc's but I think some superchargers use a pop-off valve or some type of wastegate in case of over-boosting. It may be stuck or fixed open.
Otherwise it could just be a bad gasket or connection somewhere
Does the car still drive well otherwise?

The car drives/runs great, vtec crossover is set at 5400 rpm's I'm not sure if it is tuned or what? the only thing is it's not making boost, and cuts out above 6,000 rpms! It has some really cheap kind of wastegate on it, its like plastic or some crap!
get the contact info for the previous owner from the honda dealer and contact them.
Sadly, the dealer doesn't know how to tackle issues that can't be solved with a code scanner, so they're of no help to you now.

port charlottle is real close to me im in venice. I hope you get everything figured out. are sure there are no boost leaks? im also assuming there is no engine managment since you have stock injectors still. No bueno. I say take the supercharger off and run a regular header too see how the car runs. perform a leak down and compression test and if all checks out, sell the sc kit and piece together a good turbo kit.
If you have a bad boost leak somewhere, a stock ecu, and no missing link between the MAP sensor and throttle body, this could easily happen. Not enough airflow (to produce boost) until higher rpm, so when the overall airflow is greater than engine AND leak consume together, you get boost. Over 1psi the stock ecu goes into limp mode, so that leaking setup goes all shitty when its about to get fun.
There's also a chance the SC is broken. Check for shaftplay and that the shaft spins freely w/o the belt on it. Like a turbo it would eat its bearings if it was ran w/o decent oiling. Likewise, big chips in the compressor wheel will reduce it's ability to make boost.
