help don't know what could be the problem

Default help don't know what could be the problem

ok i just had a new distributor put in and the turn on the engine and the motor start shaking more then usual like it was gonna die then smoke start coming out so i turned off the engine now i don't know what it could be help plz

its a 94 civic coupe ex

ok i had it checked out they said it was my cylinder 1 and 4 that was uhh low or something so does that mean a new engine is needed?

what did they mean by "low" did they do a compression test and the pressure was reading low??? explain more

Well ovbiously 1 and 4 have low compression if a comp. test was done. Main reasons for low compression are headgasket, rings, timing (crank) being off. This doesnt necessarily mean you need a new motor if you can do the work yourself, but if you have a shop do it then you may be better off to get another motor.

yes it was the compressing on cylinder 1 and 4 is low and i had one of the guys at the shop checked it out he said i needed a new bottom block?

whats your timing like? if you had no problems previos to swapping out the dizzy, then chances are your timing is off

sorry i finally decided to fix my civic the other day and turns out my timing was way off...so i got that fixed up. thanks for all the info
