high rev gear wont go in ...plzzz help !!!!
Hi i have a 2007 honda civic si coupe....
this is my situation ..
i burnt the clutch so i go a new competition stage 2 clutch in instaled in my car with that said when i try shift with an rpm of 2.5-4 it shift good but when i go high rpm i wont let me put in to gear i need to force the gear in or hold down the clutch and apply preasure on the gear for it to go in and at this point the rpm goes right down.
i ask my dealship about the problem and they said that i need to let the clutch settel and let it adjust it self ... and sometime when im stop and i try to put in first i need to force it in and force it back out to take it out ... also my reverse grinds sometimes depending if im on a hill or not ...
thanks

Did you do the clutch job or did someone else? Sounds like something wasn't put back in properly... Try what was mentioned above, if that doesn't check out, then i suggest you get that thing taken apart and put back together right before you screw up MORE than just a clutch...
New clutch+flywheel = ~600-800
New internals for tranny = ~1500-3000

I am with Demonis on this one. It sounds like something was not put back right or the wrong clutch was installed. It almost sounds like the throw on the pressure plate is too short so the clutch plate does not fully disengage from the flywheel. Did they replace your throw-out bearing and flywheel as well or just the pressure and clutch plates?
thanks....
welll like like this .... i go and this is with every gear ..
i red line and thne i need to hold the clutch down and wait 2-5 sec for the gear to go in .. with out forcing it in...

sounds like a synchro issue. check the fluid like i said earlier.
if you're engaging the clutch after redlining and the RPM's drop normally then the clutch is disengaging from the flywheel so i dont suspect it to be a clutch problem.

yeah that sounds about right. ( i think) would trying to double clutch(no f&f) to go into gear and if it does prove that it's a synchro problem?
yeah but its just not one gear its all the gears that they dont want to go in ...... i was talkin to one of my buddies and they said usaly its just one synchro that lets go not all 6
just check the tranny fluid and go from there. yah one or two synchros go out at a time from abuse but if your tranny is not fully lubricated it could cause the problem you're having.
im just giving you troubleshooting options....you can keep talking to your buddies if you like.

like he said check the trans fluid if low add some honda mtf. i would also check your shift cables on the trans make sure nothing is in the way of them. do you have cold air intake that could be hitting the shift cable/ assembly, and also the batt calbes run in that area i beleive i would check that. its happened to be before
