Type-R vs. other teg shifters?
Is the Type-R's shifter any different than the rest of the integras? I've heard a number of people talk about how nicely a Type-R shifts, but I wasn't aware of any differences.
Thanks Paul, yes, I'm talking specifically about the design of the shifter itself.
I've got a GS-R with a new JDM R tranny and a B&M Edge shifter and shift stabilizer kit in it. I believe the shift stabilizer(metal bushings instead of rubber) may be the culprit in the demise of the bearings(excessive vibrations) in my GSR's previous tranny, and I'm considering taking the short shifter and stabilizer kit out, and going back to stock, but I'd switch to an R shifter if I knew there was a difference over the stock GS-R one. Thanks

actually there is a difference. The part of the shifter that connects to the shifter rod is bigger. Don't really know if the throw on a type r is shorter or anything. If you considering changing to a type r shifter you need the type r shifter rod too.

Couldn't tell you the difference between the 2 except that the ITR is polished like someone said, about the issue having to use the ITR rod? I got the ITR shift linkage as well so thats another one that I am not positive about. Anyhow the ITR shifter is like $40 or so from Acura new. **** if you can use a crx shifter from 1988 in a 00 civic si I am pretty sure that I could use a ITR shifter in any B-series swap.
there was a thread here on the ITR board about a certain Del Sol shifter that is longer (slightly shorter throws) a while back... I don't know if it was confirmed or not, but seems that someone claimed to have measured it...

actually there is no difference. i have a GSR and i bought an ITR shifter about a year ago. it fit into place like a glove, there was no problem with the "shifter rod" (?) or anything else like that. plus when i put the two side by side they were identical. no one part was bigger/smaller than the other. I dont think you got the type r shifter then. Cause my cousin did a gsr shifter swap on his si and it fit perfected, but when I did a Type r shifter swap on my brothers si and it didnt fit. we had to replace the shifter rod (shift linkage). Also when i bought my c's shifter there's a difference between dc2r and dc2.
