Default Brembo blanks vs Powerstop dimpled and slotted

Which would be the best to upgrade to. There's a site thats sells Brembo blanks for ~30 a rotor opposed to the 75 for the Powerstop rotors.

well depends on what you want to spend, also depends on how good of tires you have/pads... some will say that the slotted/drilled rotors will eat up Pads like crazy fast, others will say that they are only for bling, and some will say that they make them stop better.
is it for a street car or a track car?
a daily Driver? do you care about noise (squeeling) or brake dust?
so many factors... I would just go with the blanks and a good tire combo. if you feel that it isnt doing the job try some more agressive pads, if it still isnt stopping fast enough or overheating for you then consider the powerstop or somethign similar.

It's going on my boosted daily driver. I was thinking about going with the blanks and EBC's street pads. I 'm rolling on some Falken Zeix's.

i think you'll be fine with blanks and good pads for your daily driver. great stopping power and they dont wear your pads faster than slotted rotors.

Brembo blanks=cheaper
Brembo blanks=no bling
Slotted/drilled=What happens when the little holes and grooves fill up with brake dust?
Some old timer taught me that you can "vent" the brake pad itself by cutting some grooves in it with 3 blades together in a hacksaw FTW. good luck........

slotted/drilled rotors give you less contact area. i noticed a big difference when i went back to the brembo blanks

Considering that either one will work exactly the same since slots and holes and whatnot are for bling purposes only, I'd say you'd be better off spending less than half as much on the blanks.

brembo blanks x100000000

Some people say drilled and slotted rotors tend to warp, i personally have never used drilled or slotted but i used brembo blanks with axxis metalmaster pads, and i tracked that setup twice with NO brakefade whatsoever.

The standard 1 piece rotors that are drilled an slotted might not be worth the extra cash.

However when you step up to a 2 piece floating rotor set up they are almost all either slotted or drilled.

The reason the 1 piece rotors warp is because they are getting so hot that they are trying to expand, except they are fixed to the wheel studs at the same time, which keeps them from expanding, and results in the rotor warping.

With the 2 piece floating rotor, the rotor can expand independent of the brake hat. That way there is no warping. Of course that is race track level stuff that you don't need for the street.

I like my Axxis metalmaster pads and drilled rotors on my crx. The drilled rotors seemed to cool and dissapate the heat better in between stops - reducing brake fade.
I don't think drilled rotors help you stop in a shorted actual distance, however their ability to cool faster is worth it to me.

I have also tried slotted discs but they do not seem to offer any increased benefit.
