91 CRX SI battery keeps dying, constant draw, any help?
Ever since I got this crx, the battery goes dead after a few days of sitting, over the winter I left the battery in and it went down to 4 volts, that is a deep cell battery, when I unhook the ground wire on the battery it's fine, I was wondering if I can test for anything, or if anything is common to cause this? No domelights stay on, no headlights, etc, there is a just a draw somewhere I don't know about, could it be the rear defrost? Which I don't think works, or how can I test different stuff, if I drive it everyday it's not really a big deal but I'd like to fix it, any help would be appricated thanks.
Go to advance, they have a ohm tester, its a hoop looking device, they put it over either one of the battery leads and it shows how much current is being drawn...then get to pulling fuses, that'll narrow it down a bit. Could easily be something as simple as a loose ground somewhere
first get the battery tested at a parts store.
to check for a short, get a test light. Unhook the negative battery cable and connect the test light to the negative battery terminal and the other end to a good body ground. the light will glow indicating a draw or short (it can be dim sometimes), start pulling fuses one by one (underhood and under dash) putting them and check the light, i . once the light goes off you know you have found the offending curcuit, then bust out a wiring diagram and multimeter.

My car does the same, found out its one of the seatbelts thats draining the battery. Unhook yours and let the car sit. Go back a few days later like you would, and see if the battery is dead again.
