Default ls crank gsr block

Is it possible or advantageous to run an LS crank in a GSR block? From what I understand the block itself is stronger, has a stock girdle, oil squirters, and maybe a couple other things I am forgetting. Whereas the LS crank makes for more power and torque because of a lower RS ratio? Just trying to see all the options for taking the head of my B16 and going 1.8 or bigger.
