I have to buy a ton of bolts soon to finish my swap (bolts for the mounts, half shaft, tranny to block... ect..) and the pricing through acuraoemparts.com was $150+!!!
What are your thoughts on using non oem bolts for applications like this?

 

if you get some that are aftermarket, buy "grade 8"

 

a bolts a bolt isnt it? the only difference is the strength of it. any grade 8 will handle anything you can throw at it pretty much, a grade 5 would be more then sufficient.

 

When ever I need a bunch of bolts I go to the salvage yard, I get them real cheap.

 

^^yes, salavage yard will have all the needed bolts cheap too! and they'll work...eheheheh

that would work but finding bolts like that is next to impossible around here

That sucks man, Honda uses some strang threade pitches and many different length large bolts. I always hold onto the large bolts when I can.

As long as you use grade 8 you should be fine. Alot of the bolts do have different length shoulders and some do have ridges in the shoulder but as long as your not making ridiculous h.p. you should be fine. But I will stress to use grade 8

Basically, every part number Honda has for a bolt has the dimensions of the bolt in the part number. You just have to know how to read it. So if you look up a part number on any of the many sites listed in the OEM Parts Sellers thread, you can figure out what bolts you need.
