i just finished doing a swap and now the car wont start. the main relay is buzzing everytime i turn the key to on and the light is really dim but when i take off the ecu or main relay everything is bright agian. i change battery, ecu, main relay, checked thermostat ground and added extra grounds and fuses, and cleaned all ground terminals but nothing seems to work and yea i evened checked all connections what could be the problem?

 

i had a verrrrrryyyy similar problem. It was the ground on the thermostat housing

 

yea i thought it would be that too but i tried cleaning it and putting it in a different spot and still nothing

 

whats happens to your cel while cranking the car over?

how many grounds do u have hooked up? i had the same problem and found out i had 1 ground only..there should be one on ur valve cover, tranny, and thermo housing

 

2 to my tranny, vc, thermostat housing, and one by the distributor

 

does the motors just crank over or does it stumble like it wants to start?

Replace your ECU fuse. And then make sure that you don't have any loose wires that are grounding out on the ECU. Should fix it.

 

i did unless theres an under dash one but i did other wise

 

could it be a harness problem? should i swap the harness? but today i tried using some starter fluid and when i cranked the car it shot out a ball of fire out of the throttle body. and by any chance is the cx engine harness different from an si body harness beside the vtec wires because there were a couple of wire that were different colors. someone help me need to get this **** out of the garage

If the main relay is ''buzzing'' you need to pull the relay and pull the cover off and resoldier the dry joints and that should fix your problem.

 

yea but i took a main relay from my own dd and it still didnt work and tried 2 other ones i had laying around
