Good god, he almost hit the other car by mere inches. Just goes to show you how aero sensitive those cars are. I know something must of broken in the rear suspension. But as soon as it got sideways on the grass it picked up some wind and up it went.

Thats incredible that he survived. Hekki Kovilanen had a big crash in F1 sunday. Something punctured his wheel, tire deflated and he dove straight into a tire barrier at 140mph. After they pulled him out of the car you could see straight into the foot wells.

Yeah something had to have broken, because it looked like he was just getting to/about to get to the braking zone.

 

Nice energy dissipation; not too much shock, lot's of glancing blows.

The McLaren accident this weekend was like 150 to 0 in about a nano second.

 

Whoever the mechancal/structural engineer(s) are on that car deserve a big pat on the back - job well done.

 

The camera angle at 54 secs is just nuts. That was so close it's unbelievable.

The driver was lucky. Another half roll and the cockpit side might've hit the barrier in a way that would be similar to Greg Moore's fatal crash at Fontana.
