Im a nooby so have mercy! i have a 86 lude and when i turn it on it runs rough then smooths out then rough and so forth! when i accelerate it wants 2 shut off then it bogs! I've changed; the spark plugs, wires,rotor cap, battery, alternator and water pump! not sure what 2 check for! could it be a vaccum hose? i only payed $380 for the car and with gas prices i nwould really like it running right! If any one could help me out there i would greatly appreciate it! THANKS! I forgot to mention that it's a single carburated dual side setup! could it be they can be somewhat dirty?

Try replacing the PCV Valve. My 87 accord had a similiar problem and that fixed it and since it is cheap it is a easy place to start.

 

i was gonna say replace the Throttle Position Sensor but you said its carb'd.. hmm.. could be a dirty carb or the pcv valve.. try cleaning the carb with Carb Cleaner.. check all your vac hoses and lines and keep us posted

 

alright thanks for the tip! and as for the carbs the rebuild kit is $130 bucks! but for sure ill replace the pcv! ill try to post some pics so u can myn diamond in the rough corvette!!!!!!!!!!!!
