cometic gasket problems, need expierinece (searched)
i have a h22a4 darton sleeved arias pistons stock bore carillo rods and built head with a mls comeitc headgasket.
i have had overheating problems for 2 years now and the first time it blew i had sunk a sleeve so i had the head resurfaced and the block resurfaced flat and put in another cometic 2000 miles later and im running into over heating again, ive read alot of bad comments about cometic and i think im gonna switch to golden eagle,
my question is how much can the golden eagle hold i am running 18-20 psi and wonder if they'll hold it since there basically oem rebored.

OEM gaskets are best. im sure you wont have a problem using a GE/OEM gasket as long as your sleeved block and head surface is straight/flat
im gonna check my surfaces when i pull the head but are cometics picky or is the surface not macined right is what im worried about, also no idea what boost oem can handle, thanks for the reply.
All MLS head gaskets like a very smooth surface, any machinist that does blocks and heads should know that. You want it 50 RA or lower if you want the gasket to seal.
Many people (me included) have run 20+ PSI on Cometic gaskets, and many have run it on OEM gaskets. Either should be fine if everything else is right with the motor and installation. Make sure that the surface is smooth and clean, get the right sized gasket, don't spray anything on it, use some good head studs, etc.
Maybe your sleeve sunk further. If I had a sleeve sink I'd send the block back as opposed to getting it resurfaced.

yeah i dont under stand why the car keeps over heating i have a dual core fluidyne and have bled itto death along with new hoses and thermo, but it still over heats when driving normal, not when sitting during the bleeding process for over 30, min, with the fan and heat on high, im gonna get a block tester and test for hydrocarbons to make sure its the head gasket, but im pretty sure it is, cause it wont stop bubbling from the raditor when i tried to bleed it, his is the second blown head gasket i.v e had within 2500 miles of each other so im not gonna get another cometic and see what happens, but you say 20+ psi is good for oem.
