Default 01 ITR vs. CTR valve springs

what, if any, are the differences in the two? if i am not mistaken, i think both engines redline at 8400. is one better than the other? can the ITR springs/retainers perform adequately with the added stress of, let's say TODA B's? (only up to 8400rpm?) and wings rock yo gaebage can motha@#$&!!!!!!

There are none.

Nope.

They'll be fine up to 8400 rpm.

ok first of all there is no difference bettween the two but i think thats already been confirmed. second, theres no way i would use a stock type R valvetrain on Toda B's. My friend has an 01 type R and he tried to use Toda B's with his spoon pistons. It didnt work out to well he started hearing noises from his valves and im pretty sure he actually did damadge to the stock valve train. Any way he ended up haveing to take his engine apart again and take the cams out until he has enough money for the springs and retainers. He then has to take apart his engine AGAIN once he get them to do it right FINALY. I dont know about you but i dont wana be taking my engine apart and putting it together more then once, to install cams. If your gonna do it, do it right.

Your friend doesn't know what he's doing.

Stock ITR valvetrain is fine with Spec B's if you don't rev past 8400 rpm.

It's not recommended, but you CAN do it without problems.

The type of pistons he used has nothing to do with his valvetrain problem also.

FIRST OFF... no duh on the CTR B16B shiznit!!!
Second Stock ITR valvetrain is fine with Spec B's if you don't rev past 8400 rpm.

It's not recommended, but you CAN do it without problems.

QUOTE]...I guess that you really just cannot take advantage of the TODA B's FULLY, only revving to 8400.

i plan on installing a spoon headgasket and CTR pistons before I do the cams...
The type of pistons he used has nothing to do with his valvetrain problem also.
... i think that a valve/piston clearance problem may arise with this setup. i could be wrong, but i am definetly waiting on the cams until i find out for sure

There should be no clearance problems with JDM ITR pistons and Spec B's.
