Did you jumper wire the service connector?

The trouble code should be stored in the ECU even if the CEL does not remain ON constantly.

I goes by year i think for the color of the connector/wire. Go to the thread on the main forum list and see what color it is for the eg connector/wire and thats the one you use. Also if you didnt get it the first time, its in a green holder with a few others.
i have a 94 dx coupe with a D16Z6 swap in it and i checked at the passenger side kick panel and removed the carpet but above the ecu theres no jumper plug? how do i check my cel now?
Just stick you hand in the lower passenger panel. The connectors are pinned against the panel if it has never been used. Pull it out, take the green cover off and your gonna see two connectors. One has 3 pins, the other 2. Take the one with the two. Grab a paper clip, if thats not availiable to you, grab a 3 inch wire, rip the ends off and stick it in the pins. once you do that start checking for codes.
Like you said the light will come on when driving so drive it and when the light starts flashing, start counting. Thiers no need to remove the carpet to get to those specific connectors.
