Short Version: I want to put an exhaust system on my car without making it all that noticable/drawing attention to my car. Header, Highflo cat, resonator, and STOCK or something similar sounding muffler. Also being a non-project/toy car so-to-speak, I don't want to spend a ton of money on the system. If possible, I would like to keep it under $600, but just looking for ideas ATM.
Long Version: I drive a 93 HB with a B18C1 swap as my daily driver. The car is going to be my daily driver till it or I die, and never really had any plans on pro-racing, or even making this car see anything more under a 13.0 quarter mile.

Now after driving the car, and talking to quite a few people, they all say I should at least put an exhaust system on the car and pinch those last few HP out of the block without major modification. At the moment its just a b18c1 with msd and intake (purchased it that way from my brother.) Only problem is I don't want a loud exhaust system, or sound like every other honda/acura in my city. At least once a week I get someone stopping by my house asking to buy either my civic, or my other car, and hondas are known for getting stolen frequently.

Any suggestions? I was looking at like Subliminals Tri-Y replica header, with some highflo cat, but I don't know where I can get a good resonator, or how I should step (if I even have to) down to a stock or similar muffler. Please help.

PS. Sorry for seeming like a n00b, but I never really got into hondas till I got this motor/trans etc; from my bro out of his crashed del sol. Sound is not an issue, except if its gonna draw attention to my car.

so whats your question exactly?? assuming your asking about the exhaust set up. just buy a good race header, high flow cat, and a stock gsr/rsx muffler with custom 2.5 piping.

IMO you just can't go wrong with an Apex WS/ WS II system for a subtle exhaust tone. I've had mine since '01 with no complaints. Fitment is near perfect, as expected from Apex.

BTW I shopped around and got my system - brand new - for $380.

 

Im gonna have to agree apexi is pretty much a godsend. another good point as to your comments on hondas getting stolen good things to do are:
if you get wheels get lugs with a special lug key. as far as the car itself an alarm will deflect people but a removable steering wheel will always work. unless the [pejorative]s are coming with a silent tow truck they wont have much of a chance

 

Yeah, the alarm will be coming eventually. Trying to get all my bugs worked out, etc. Ok, so Apexi WS/WS2 for a cat back. Header, cat, and resonator? And am I correct to assume that I would be on the lookout for a B18 header and EG catback?
