ok so im so stumped my fuel pump is being weird and stupid. ok the situation is my car will start most of the time in the morning and when the car is cold but then ill drive it to like say mcdonalds and decide to go in for a big mac ill come out and all the fuel pressure will be gone so ill prime the line the fuel pump will hum and i have to do this till the fuel pump hums then clicks then the car will turn on but untill it clicks i cant start my car does anyone know whats going on??? because sometimes i will have to wait up to 30 mins waiting for the fuel pump to click. its rele pissing me off and my car is one of the biggest triggers for my anger so i need answers fast!!! please!!!

How do you know the fuel pressure is gone?

The main relay powers the pump for only about 2 seconds when the ignition is first turned to "run", the amount of time the CEL (check engine light) is lit. After that, the ECU de-energizes the relay and waits for a signal that the engine is turning before re-energizing the pump.

I don't know what "click" sound you are refering to, but keep in mind the limited time the pump is powered as described above. If the solder joints on the main relay's circuit board have developed hairline fractures, it could cause the starting difficulty you are describing. Resolder or replace the relay.

 

ok first off i replaced the relay i replaced the fuel pressure reg fuel filter fuel pump is new and i took the fuel line to the fuel rail off primed it and nothing came thru i think that means theres no fuel pressure idk i could be wrong untill the damn thing clicks it doesnt build pressure sounds very strange but after it clicks fuel shoots out of the line
