Default hot temp meter went up again

this is the second time in 3 months that the meter went up again. first time i added a lil bit of water and was fine for awhile. now the same thing happened again, but this time i noticed radiator fluids inside the radiator are more watery type of color, not a lime green color anymore. and it splattered all over the place. radiator cap was close tightly.

what should i do? should i replace the whole radiator? i was thinking about replacing the thermostat and flush out the radiator coolant. should i spend another 1.50 on radiator too?

The "green stuff" raises your boiling point. Without that your coolant might reach boiling point causeing air pockets to for inside your engines cooling system. this will cause your engine to become even hotter because where the air is trapped heat pockets form. take your radiator cap off and see if you can see air bubbles. while the vehilce is running, if you can this indicates that there is air present in your cooling system. if you see bubbles the next step after that is to pressure test the cooling system to see if ther eis in fact a leak somewhere.

replacing the thermostat and coolant couldn't hurt. Make sure to remove all air bubbles. If you are not comfortable replacing coolant most express oil change places will do it quick and cheap.
