Karting, How young is to young
So my sister is going to be turning 2 soon. Yes, there's a HUGE gap between my sister and I (me being 23). As of now, she likes playing with cars and watches racing videos with me on youtube. I was thinking of getting her into karting but what would be the right age? 4-5 or is that still a little to young?
I started at 4... keep in mind you are going to teach something to a child that grown ups do everyday. Go slow with her build confidence and control.
Most of all dont break the bank buying a kart or gear in case she doesnt like it.
A toned down Comer 50 should be good for a starter engine.

there is a video on youtube of a guy documenting him getting his kid started. At like age 3 with a push kart up to 12 or 13 i think were the kid is in a 110cc non shifter kart.
Search craigslist for those "all terrain" karts that they sell at K-mart, wall mart and costco.

I've seen some really young kids (maybe 10yrs old) who are really competitive against the older drivers At the local track in my town. Some I'm guessing that they were started out young too.
I will be starting my son off at the local indoor place first. That will allow me to see if he actually likes it or not without having to buy a kart. Of course there are height requirements so this will be a no go for those that are shorties or really young.

Yeah, when she get a little older I'm probably going to take her down to the mini golf/go kart place and have her ride shotgun and see is she likes it.

That is good info to follow. Used karts FTW.
Start small and work your way up if she likes it. Go to the local kart track and talk to parents as well. Check your local track regulations as well.

The local kart track is Infineon Raceway with Dixon not to far.

Might want to check with bob, as he is getting his 4 girls into karting. He said they seem to like it, and that the seemed to be pretty into the racing thing in general

Dixon is a great family track! How do I know? I race there. That is my "home" track. The Kinsmen Kart Facility has a great organization and racers. The track is very family orientated. I take my children there whenever I can. They have a great membership program as well.
$350.00 and all members of your family (living under the roof) get access to the track. You have some time before you sister is ready to get into karting, but you can always check out the track.
PM if you have more ?s.

Im debating rather or not to sell my chassis
needs spindles,tires,wheels & motor
nobody has the sprocket spindle i need for 1" axle..
so you'd probably have to buy a new axle to be honest with you..
