f22 swap into a Del Sol
ok, first off is i have a 96 del sol, which is obd2a. i found a 95 accord with an f22b1, which i can get for 150 bucks, full longblock, it includes the full engine wiring harness too, and i know where to get the factory ecu for it for about 40 bucks. so i can spend about 200 bucks and have the ecu, motor, wiring harness, so all i would need is the cables and tranny. my question is, would i need to buy a jumper harness for the motor to work in my car? how hard would it be to put in as far as the wiring goes? im not worried about the cutting and welding, mainly the wiring. i want to do the f22 because i like single cams, and its very unique. i dont want an h22 or b18c5 or turbo d, n/a f22.
any info would be helpful

ive been reading alot about doing the swap, i was wondering, do i use my stock wiring harness? i currently have a d16y7 in it, non-vtec, going 2 a f22b1 vtec. would i even need the f22 harness? what about the ecu? should i use an f22b1 if i can find one?

If you are afraid of wiring, you shouldn't be doing a hybrid swap IMO.
You will need to lay Vtec wiring from the solenoid all the way to the ECU, and yes, you should use a F22B1 ECU, do not try to run it on the stock Y7 ECU or it will pop.

i never said i was afraid of wiring, im just trying 2 get as much info as possible for this swap. i dont plan on using the y7 ecu cuz its not vtec and the f22 is, i can pick up an ecu from a 95 or 96 ex 5spd for cheap so i was g2 use that.

95 is OBD1, so it would have to be out of a 96 manual accord

do you know any of the names of companies that do so? i can send the wiring harness for the f22 2 that company and have them do it or whatever. if i go obd1, do i have to worry about the egr valve and the charcoal canister and stuff like that? like those can all be removed correct?
so ive been hearing alot that i should run an f22a1 head, because they flow a lot better than the b2, is this correct? are they still vtec?
what makes the f22ax heads better than the b2? you would think that vtec makes more power. i wanted 2 get the b2 head port the hell out of it.
