with an EBC i would say no

with an MBC i would say yes. i wouldnt want my turbo spooling up when im downshifting and building boost against the throttle body/itself

edit; i guess after thinking about it i would just run it off the turbo either way

Use the turbo. If you dont and you blow an intercooler pipe the turbo isnt going to know the difference if its source is coming from anywhere past the blown pipe. It will 'sense' that the target pressure is not met and spin into oblivion if you arent paying attention.

On my old Turbo set up in my Hatch. I actually did something simillar to this. I purchased a Vacum nipple. THen i tapped the the pipe coming up clamped to the the turbo and I welded the nipple to the piping. Thats where i got my vacum source. Worked just fine!!!

personally i think it is more consistent running the boost reference from the turbo not post throttle body.

It wasnt Post throttle body, It was post turbo.

I wouldnt do it on the cuppler because of the chance for a boost leak. The cupplers get hot under the hood and wont really seal the vacum nipple well.

Just tap the piping that come right after the turbo, right before the coupler that clamps on to the turbo. and you should be good. thats whay i did and never had a problem.
