Default B18b turbo camshaft question

My friend who grinds cams is making me custom cams for my Ls-T setup with the oem cams, I was just wondering if I would need to upgrade the valvetrain as well or would it be fine.. Thanks

i would, upgrading ls springs is a cheap alternative to a dropped valve.

Well first i would ask how aggressive will the regrinds be, but either way anything above factory specs i would definitly upgrade. Its really not that expensive and like stated is worth not floating a valve. Mainly i would be worried if you were plannin on revving higher than factory redline.

Yea that is a good point, if I ended up not putting in aftermarket springs then I would definately not rev over the stock redline.

I think I well end up buying some valve springs, also wanted to know if it was worth buying retainers as well- or if that is just a waste of money.

Also I am doing my build with a budget and was wondering what kind of valve springs you guys would recommend.

Thanks

You can find combo sets that are a good deal with both springs and retainers. I would recommend it while your in there. Do it once and do it right

If the head is stock you don't need to upgrade it.
