Default Guages: Mechanical or Electric? What's better and why??

I been shopping for some Guages lately and just want to know which is better to have and why. I'm currently looking for a oil pressure gauge. Thanks for your input.

I think the electrical are usually more accurate since there are less moving parts to brake or go out of calibration. Like take my speedo for example. It's cable driven and it fluctuates or bounces all the time. Mostly at lower speeds though. Annoys the hell out of me. But it's because the cable is sticky and I just have to replace it.
I'm going to go to a new electrical cluster and electrical VSS anyway, so screw it.

I'd say go with electrical. I think they're probably more expensive, but I'd say they're worth it.

that's my 2 cents...

I actually heard the opposite for the accuracy of the electricals. Like on the oil pressure guage for example, since your running it right of the sensor the pressure is much more accurate. The only problem with that though is there is actaul fluids inside your cabin. I think I can fix that though with a SS line instead of the silicon that comes with the gauge.

Any other input?

Honestly the accuracy issue is very mute. You aren't going to see a huge difference in the gauge readings, but you'll be able to know when there is a problem, you may be off by a psi or two, but that doesn't matter if you're reading 4 or 2 1/2 psi, you know there's a problem!!

I would just go for electrical. Easy to do and Running wires is a lot easier than trying to route oil lines into your passenger compartment.
