Default ARP head bolt problem

Before I ask my question, a couple things I know people will say. Yes I made a mistake and stripped the bolt and yes I'm retarded. Also, I did search and was unable to find an answer to this specific question. So I stripped the nut that goes around the head bolt, does anyone have an idea how to get if off? It would be amazing if I didn't have to drill it out or take it to someone else. Thanks for you help guys.

if there arp BOLTS (not studs) thani would say go check out sears, they have a bolt removal socket set for cheap that will prolly help you. this is a prime example of why you lube the crap out of the bolts with that packet that comes with it. or put oil on it. but if that socket set dont work than ummmm id start geting creative. what kind on engine is it???

So if it's a stud without a head on it, have you been able to remove the entire head?

arp head studs you screw in the stud by hand and then you put the nut on top and torque it to whatever they tell you...the nut part is rounded off...i need to remove that from the stud

Are you saying that if you don't use a 1/2" drive 12 point socket, you'll strip the nut? You do realize the drive size has absolutely nothing to do with how likely it is to round off a nut, right?

Hex heads get 6 point sockets. 12 point heads get 12 point sockets. Good sockets are cheap - there's no reason not to have a full set of both.

OP, get yourself a tap and die kit from Craftsman. This won't be the only time you use it. If the nut is rounded off, they also make special sockets (I believe they're called Gorilla sockets) that are made for rounded heads. Pick one up. You'll definitely get your use out of it.

What is with people pulling up 2+ year old threads recently??
Searching is awesome and all, but bone digging is just silly.

Serious, check the date of the first post before you reply.
