Default opinion on pistons and rods

hey guys i got a set of used CP pistons off a member here today and i just noticed a little chip off one of the piston. it worries me but this is my first engine build so opinions would be grateful.




and according to the seller it has stock shot peen rods already on them. i dunno how to tell but he said, the discolor shows the machine work.



my pistons just went or else i would have more research into this. any help would be appreicated thanks

well...research shows that this was weak in CP's design lol think it'll be good for 400hp?

your first mistake was buying used pistons... anyhow, if your going to use those just file those rought edges down and put new rings on them...

didn't really need the negativity but thanks for the opinion, seems like it would of happened even on a new sets(old design) due to CP's flaw i think prepping them correctly when installing them will be fine.

wow are you serious? grow a pair there is no negativity there, just truth... and no it would not have happend with a new set because the problem has been corrected... have a nice day, i'll make sure to use kid gloves next time i post on one of your threads...
