Default Pistons and Rods Combo

i am in the market for some 84.5mm pistons.. and i don't know what kind of pistons to get.. My goal in my lsvtec build is 600whp. i have been reading up on different piston and rods combo's and i don't know what to buy. I have read lots of things about pistons messing up in motors but i do think that not all people on here that install pistons and rods are people that should be doing it.. and then sometimes come on hear and bash pistons and rods.. and i think lots of the time, i think it is the install..

I hear people talking about how cp pistons are the best.. but i don't see why they are better than je or arias pistons. i have used arias pistons before... in a build and they work fine.. but i also read on hear that for higher horse power i should use cp. i am just wanting to know from people that have been making big power what should i get.. and would eagle rods be ok for 600whp..

Thanks a lot

Je pistons will work fine... and rods are up and down on this site, some people will tell you eagles will start getting unreliable at high hp. If your going to stay around 600whp I say eagles and JE pistons, but if your going to jump up to more hp I say pauter rods or manley turbo tuff rods

BS, I have seen eagles hold 850whp on an lsvtec reving to 9800. with a TON of passes. its the pink SFWD hatch here http://profile.myspace.com/index.cfm...ndID=154021148

Every motor built there is running eagle including the 2jz's. all making from 800-1100whp. never seen one failure.

well if your lookinh to make about 800 plus hp... u better not be cheap. I have always used eagle but again not for that amount of power.

i think tuning is the key. I was watching a old RLZ video on youtube they used eagle rods and wiseco not a terrible expensive setup. I have seen some great setups go down the dump from bad tunes. I think if your going to make 600hp you need to know how to tune. When you go to a drag race all the top teams there pull there plugs and check them for a reason. i will bet you there engines are dyno tuned but when you get to making 600hp plus real life conditions can change alot.

eagle rods I think are prorated at around 600whp safely
And if going with rods I can imagine your upgrading rod bolts as well

Manley turbo tuff rods are the jam sesh but they are quite expensive also
And CP pistons are not THAT expensive either if I remember?
maybe 500ish a set

If you read my post I said that people on this site will say that, I was NOT stating that...I also have seen people making 700whp on eagles but im just saying from other people threads they have state having trouble with eagles at high hp
