Battery question....

Trying to determine that if I mount a sealed gel cell battery in the hatch of my hooptie if I have to have a battery box around it? I thought I read in some rules that it is ok, but can't find them.

Theoretically you should be cool, but by the rules I don't think they care what kind of battery it is, it needs a box vented to the atmosphere...

I have seen at our local track (NHRA Sanctioned) that any battery in that wasn't mounted in the engine bay, needed to be in a box, regardless of what kinda of battery it is.
