vtec disconnected with turbo....yes, no
i have a 99 civic si with a t28 turbo running 10 lbs of boost, i have heard rumors of disconnecting the vtec solenoid with turbo setups due to the vtec robbing oil pressure from the turbo ruining the bearings and giving shaft play. has anyone else heard of this problem of is it just a falacy? if anyone has any advice for this please let me know.
thanks tom

What are you talking about? Do you even own a turbo'd car?
I have V-TEC as well as a turbo setup. You can have both. But if you remove it or w/e, you need to be re-tuned.

Kinda hard on the internet, but I think that was a joke by him.
Anyway I have never heard of that. I had boost and VTEC (VTEC-E to be exact
) and it worked just fine

I've always been curious as to where this nonsense originated. My guess is some kids who simply slapped on turbo kits and either couldn't find a competent enough tuner, or tried to tune it themselves with no success.
I mean, look at the Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution 9. A turbocharged engine with MIVEC, their valve timing "version" of vtec (I'm not saying it's exactly the same), and it seems to work pretty well for that car pretty well don't ya think?
