Whats a Turbo?
Ha just kidding. Anyway. I have a turbonetics turbo that i got today. Im not exactly sure what size it is or even if its a real turbonetics. here are some pictures if you guys can tell me what size the compressor wheel and the turbine is. there is a "T" stamped on the exhaust housing and other than that there are two numbers on the thing. There is one at the flange that says 0358 (that is on the compressor side) and 20357 (that is on the downpipe flange side). any information would be great. thanks. and here are the pictures.

thats appears to be a turbonetic turbo I would say, the T stamp on the exhaust housing is definately turbonetics logo/ marking. the compressor side appears to have been sanded/ polished maybe after the fact and might be why you dont see any T on that housing as well. I also do see the reflection of the anodized gold backplate that they use.
that turbine housing is a t3 .48 a/r standard style housing for sure but it could be one of 4 trim stages:
20357-1 Turb Hsg,0.48,Stg 1,Std
20357-2 Turb Hsg,0.48,Stg 2,Std
20357-3 Turb Hsg,0.48,Stg 3,Std
20357-5 Turb Hsg,0.48,Stg 5,Std
Since the compressor side has no markings, not as easily identified from you pictures. Was there no other manufacturer tag with a serial number, etc on the center section?
Absolutely the best way to know what it is, take off the compressor housing and measure the inducer and exducer of the compressor wheel. You could also do the same for the turbine wheel while your at it to know exactly what you have.
I am no turbonetics guru by any means but hopefully this little bit of info will be some help and maybe get you started in a direction

Thank you for your info..the weird thing is ..the backplate of the housing isnt gold or blue or anycolor its just like an aluminum plate thing. its weird. i think this turbo might be really old. there is alot of shaft play on it so im trying to find a rebuild kit for it. my friend gave it to me for free it was on his 400whp prelude. I also found on the inside of the housing it sais .60 and on the inside of the exhaust flange it sais .63
well then you got me then, I see it does have a .63 a/r stamp in it (you can see it in your pic kinda)... but that number on the housing comes back to a .48 a/r housing per turbonetics forum listing all their part numbers for housings.

odd... well I guess thats why I dont claim to know much or be a guru on them... I just go by the information they give out. that and I have used nothing but garrett and precision turbos, so not much experience with them.
oh well I tried. best way to know for sure is going to be take the housings off and measure up the inducer and exducer of the wheels.

Thanks again..like i said the turbo has alot of shaft play so i ordered a rebuild kit for it. Does anyone have step by step instructions on how to rebuild a t3/t4? I have a general idea and i have the turbo in pieces now but i just want to make sure im doing it right.
